Terms of Service

By accessing or using the StatisTax LLC websites, applications, APIs, route reports, or related content and services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and StatisTax LLC. If you use the Services on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Services. The current Model A DataTour experience is designed for anonymous use and may operate without a registered account, but anonymous access does not reduce your responsibility to comply with these Terms.

You are responsible for the devices, connectivity, browser settings, app settings, and permissions required to use features such as geolocation, background route tracking, map rendering, or local route persistence.

The Services provide route tracking, synthetic route generation, locality statistics, visualizations, map-based interfaces, shared route views, and native mobile app experiences. Features may change over time and may be added, removed, limited, or interrupted without notice.

Statistics, geocoding, route summaries, political or fiscal metrics, school information, and similar outputs are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not legal, financial, real estate, travel, or public safety advice.

Subject to these Terms, StatisTax LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for lawful internal, personal, editorial, research, or evaluation purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, resell, sublicense, scrape, frame, reverse engineer, or create derivative commercial offerings from the Services except as expressly permitted in writing by StatisTax LLC.

You agree not to:

• use the Services in violation of law, regulation, or third-party rights;
• submit malicious code, abusive traffic, automated scraping, or denial-of-service activity;
• attempt unauthorized access to systems, route data, or infrastructure;
• interfere with service availability, telemetry, maps, or APIs;
• use the Services to stalk, profile, surveil, or harm any individual;
• misrepresent a synthetic route as an actual recorded journey without clear disclosure;
• remove proprietary notices or obscure source attribution supplied with the Services.

If you enable geolocation, the Services may process location data, route points, timestamps, and derived summaries. In native mobile apps, an active journey may continue collecting route points while the app is minimized or the screen is locked if you grant the required background location permissions. Pausing or ending a journey is intended to stop that background collection. If you use synthetic routing features, the Services may process addresses, cities, stops, and route parameters that you provide.

Shared route links may allow anyone with the link to view the associated route output. You are responsible for deciding whether to share a route identifier or any route-derived information.

The Services, including software, visual design, text, graphics, reports, compilation logic, branding, and underlying data arrangement, are owned by or licensed to StatisTax LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Third-party marks, map data, open data, or other third-party content remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to additional license terms.

If you provide suggestions, ideas, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant StatisTax LLC a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation.

The Services may rely on third-party infrastructure, analytics, hosting, maps, tile delivery, geospatial tooling, or public and licensed datasets. StatisTax LLC is not responsible for outages, inaccuracies, policy changes, or acts or omissions of third parties.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STATISTAX LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.

StatisTax LLC does not warrant that route tracking will be continuous, that geolocation will be precise, that synthetic routes will reflect real-world travel conditions, or that any statistic or report is current, complete, or error free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StatisTax LLC and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, business opportunity, or use, arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of StatisTax LLC for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StatisTax LLC and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services, your content or inputs, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

StatisTax LLC may suspend, limit, or terminate access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for users or the Services, or if continued operation is no longer commercially or technically feasible.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, dispute terms, and feedback rights.

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

You and StatisTax LLC agree that any action or proceeding will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions become effective when posted unless a different effective date is stated. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
